Our Maine Coon Kittens Adoption Process
At Coonspire, we carefully match each Maine Coon kitten with the right home. Our focus is on raising wild-look, well-socialized Maine Coons with excellent health and temperament.
From your first application to go-home day, we provide clear guidance and personal support. Whether you’re joining the waitlist or selecting from available kittens, our process is thoughtful, transparent, and rooted in a true love for the breed.
Maine Coon Kittens Adoption Process
1. Submit an Inquiry
Fill out our Kitten Inquiry Form so we can learn more about your home, lifestyle, and what kind of kitten you’re looking for.
2. Approval & Kitten Matching
Once approved, we’ll recommend available kittens or upcoming litters that match your preferences. Photos, videos, and personality descriptions will be provided.
3. Reservation & Deposit
To reserve your chosen kitten, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required. We’ll send you a contract to review and sign.

4. Growth Updates
You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and progress reports as your kitten grows, along with helpful tips on food, supplies, and how to prepare your home.
5. Final Vet Check & Health Prep
Before leaving us, every kitten receives a health check, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a signed health certificate.
6. Final Payment
Final payment must be made prior to pick up (cash only) or delivery.

Your journey doesn’t end at adoption. We’re here for advice, updates, and support throughout your kitten’s life.
Maine Coon Kittens Waitlist Process
1. Submit Your Application
Your journey begins with a short kitten application form. This helps us understand your home environment, lifestyle, preferences (such as gender, color, personality), and any previous cat experience.
2. Application Review & Approval
Once your application is reviewed, we’ll reach out with any follow-up questions. If approved, you’ll be invited to place a waitlist deposit for an upcoming or planned litter.
3. Place a $400 Waitlist Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of $400 is required to hold your spot. This amount goes toward the final adoption fee and ensures you’re serious about moving forward.
We keep our litters exclusive. For each upcoming litter, we only accept 3 waitlist families before the kittens are born.
4. Expandable Based on Litter Size
After birth, if a litter has more than 6 kittens, we will open 1 additional waitlist slot per extra kitten. This ensures every kitten has a home waiting, without overbooking.
For example: If 7 kittens are born, we may expand the list to 5 families total.
5. Kitten Selection
At around 7 weeks of age, kittens are evaluated for personality, structure, and type. Waitlist families are contacted in order of deposit date to select a kitten.
We assist you during this stage to help match temperament, color, and features to your preferences.
Once you’ve selected your kitten, the next steps will follow our standard Adoption Process, starting with reservation, contract signing, and preparing for go-home day.
