We’re so glad you’re here. Whether you’re just learning about the Maine Coon breed or already dreaming about bringing one home, we hope this space feels as warm and welcoming as the cats we raise.

This is our first blog post, and we wanted to start by introducing who we are, what we believe in, and what you can expect from both our cattery and this blog.


Our Maine Coon Cattery Story

CoonSpire began with a deep love for the Maine Coon—an unforgettable mix of size, sweetness, and soul. Like many others, we were first drawn in by their majestic looks. But it was their personality—the gentle, intelligent, dog-like loyalty—that truly captured our hearts.

From the beginning, we knew we didn’t want to simply “breed cats.” We wanted to raise companions. Family members. Animals who were nurtured, loved, and socialized from day one.

The name Coonspire reflects that vision. It's about more than a breed—it’s about creating something intentional, beautiful, and lasting. Every kitten born here is part of that mission.


What We Believe

Maine Coon Cat

At Coonspire, our philosophy is simple:Health comes before temperament, temperament before appearance, and appearance before extreme wild style—and it will always stay that way.

We raise our cats in our home—not in cages, not in separate buildings, but right here, with us. They are part of our daily life: curled up on the couch, chasing toys, sunbathing in the windows. They are social, confident, and used to being handled and loved. One of our family members stays home full-time and spends every day with the cats, ensuring constant care and companionship.



Our breeding decisions are thoughtful and grounded in three core values:

🩺 Health First

All of our breeding cats receive regular veterinary care, including heart echocardiograms, hip X-rays, and full DNA testing for known genetic conditions. We carefully match our cats to ensure the best possible outcomes.

💛 Temperament Matters

We prioritize loving, stable, and confident personalities—not just flashy looks. A beautiful cat is nothing if it cannot be a joyful, well-adjusted companion.

🐾 True to Breed Standards

We are proud to work with traditional, wild-type Maine Coons—strong, balanced, and true to their roots. Choosing a wild expression does not mean abandoning the breed standard. We value both structure and soul.

We are also proud to be registered with international cat associations, and to raise our kittens according to the highest ethical standards.
